3rd day in a row; Al-Abbas shrine continues to provide its relief assistance in Syria

The delegation of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in Syria continues for the third day in a row to provide relief assistance to those affected by the earthquake there.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The delegation of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine in Syria continues for the third day in a row to provide relief assistance to those affected by the earthquake there.

In an earlier statement to the News Center, the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Sayed Mustafa Mortadha Aal Dea' Uddin, said that "after the completion of its first relief campaign, the Holy Shrine will conduct other campaigns to Syria to support humanitarian and relief efforts, and provide assistance to Syrian brothers in various areas affected by the devastating earthquake incident".

"The convoy of the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine to Syria included the sending of more than (1555) tons of relief materials, and more than 220 individuals representing the service and humanitarian effort, to transport food and medicines, and secure shelter supplies, to establish camps for people who lost their homes due to the earthquake,"he added.

The Secretary General explained that " the relief convoy for the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine also includes the participation of a number of Service convoys to provide food to the affected people, in addition to securing 108 tons of fuel for electric power generators, which contributes to alleviating the burden of affected families and overcoming their humanitarian plight."

The relief convoy of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine set off a few days ago towards Syria to extend a helping hand to the victims of the earthquake, in response to the appeal of the supreme religious authority in Najaf and the directives of His Eminence Ahmad al-Safi.

The distribution of aid to the affected families is carried out by the delegation of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in accordance with an organized mechanism, and in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Syrian city of Latakia and other areas, as the members of the Shrine's delegation are doing their best to reach as many affected people as possible to provide assistance to them.
